End of a Season

Another Summer season gone, and another Fall season begins. I don’t know about you but this year has flown by so quickly. I remember June starting and I’m thinking to myself, “ Man I can’t wait to do all the cool Summer stuff.” It was a very eventful season but I still wanted to do more. There was so much to do yet I ran out of time. The more I look back on the past few months, the more I realize I waste a lot of time thinking of what to do, instead of just doing it. “It be fun to do whitewater rafting, or a trip to Vermont would be cool.”

The years seem to move very quickly and soon enough I’ll be looking in the mirror being more gray than I am now. (if that is even possible.) Instead of wondering what to do, I am going to start pursuing it and not waiting to do it. One season is over but we still have 2 more left this year to enjoy, and fulfill those goals.

I’ll leave you with a quote from one of my favorite films “ Do you want to become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone?” - Inception

Go out and enjoy all that you can while we still can.

Man with the ideas

do something today

don’t delay

or stray away

from doing something with it

Ideas come and go so quickly for people. In an instant you can have a million dollar idea pop in your head and then five minutes later… poof… gone. Ideas and dreams are great to have, but if they only stay as dreams or ideas, it is a waste of time. I bet if you asked your closest friends, every one of them will tell you 20 different ideas that are cool and that would be awesome to do. “ I have this idea to write a book.”

They are always awesome great dreams. The only problem is that we come up with these ideas and never pursue them.

Next time you have a cool idea write it down and then decide if it’s something worth pursing. If it is, then do it. Stop overthinking or analyzing and wondering about it. A year from now you will be so excited and happy you pursued it.

Keep dreaming

Be what you want

How many people walk through life feeling miserable and never choosing to accomplish their dream? I think we all know someone who wakes up miserable , works all day, and goes to bed miserable. At what point in our life do we become blobs of negativity?

I never grew up thinking life was going to suck or be painful or dreadful every day of the year. In fact, I always thought I would grow up to be a famous musician or an actor on the stage. Hahah neither ever happened…yet. Instead, I work in insurance and offer people savings everyday. The monotony can be excruciating at times. However, a few years ago, I decided I wanted more in life and to have a fulfilled purpose. I wanted to wake up everyday feeling alive. That is when I decided to just be me and do my crazy weird drawings and writings and send a smile everyday to people who would look my way. I was tired of “ pleasing other people” and hiding my true nature of being positive or creative because others may think of me as weird. I was behaving like a chubby unicorn when in reality I was a rhino!

I don’t know if you are going through this now. But stop faking being a Chubby Unicorn when you really are a Rhino. Stop trying to impress people you can’t stand and faking your way through life. There is a point where we will all face this crossroad in life where we can decide who we want to be or have others decide who we are meant to be. I would rather decide for myself than being told what to be or what to do. I have no idea of all the answers to life. I do know this one thing though.

If you are true to yourself , then the rest will work its way out. Take it one day at a time and do what you love, that weight of impressing others will slowly lift off your shoulders and you can finally awaken each day feeling alive.

I want to live today.

I want to enjoy today.

I want to go after my dreams

and not wait until “someday”.

I can be the worst at procrastinating at a lot of things. Over this past year,I discovered that going after your dream is the most important thing you can ever do. I have always put off doing my dream for years, saying eventually I will get around to it. I’ll write that book someday. I will make a t-shirt someday. Over the past year I have made leaps and bounds in striving to live a fulfilled life and it has been wonderful. Instead of dreading every day, and just going through the motions; I get to be excited to do what I love all the time. My brain is in nonstop creative state allowing me to create content that I love. Don’t hesitate in pursuing your dream. We only have a certain amount of time left on this giant orb called Earth. Why not do something you enjoy, and then do it again and repeat until your dream comes true. No more lackluster living , get out and be AMAZING!!!

Don’t feel silly for wanting to live the best life ever. Others may not understand what you are going after or be confused as to why you are going after it. That is okay. This is your dream not theirs.

don't fly away

Last year a group of us embarked on a trip to the Adirondack Mountains to try and conquer a mountain. We came within a mile from the top as storm came through and derailed our plans. We had to stop climbing and come back home without conquering it. We to to fly away from that moment. It never feels good to flee or not complete something. It was a humbling and deflating experience.

A whole year later, and we are going out again to conquer that mountain. It’s been a whole year and I must say I am excited to do this. This year I am not going to quit. I am going to conquer this mountain. The same can be said with any battles we have in our life or for any goal we have. You want to lift weights, you want to lose weight, You want to run a marathon. Do it! Goals aren’t meant to be easy. Mountains aren’t meant to be easy. Sometimes you will have to take a step back and try again. It may take years to accomplish.

NEVER QUIT THOUGH!

Never give up on your dream or your goals!

Don’t Fly Away.

You may have to adjust and pivot to accomplish what you set out to do and that’s okay.

Wish us luck as we go out to the wilderness again to finish what we started last year.

This is our time to accomplish this goal.

I hope you will also focus on finishing what you started.
