Hi I’m Rex Felixx

Why I do what I do.

Ryan Jarosz October 29, 2024

Hey,
So I know a lot of you know me but some of you are new to the Rex Felixx experience.

Here are a few things about me.

1.I have two eyes,

2.Anose

3. Love to sing, dance , and play guitar….

Ok for real though.

4. I do love eating spaghettios and edamame.

OK seriously, though….

I grew up in Buffalo, NY and have always been a goofy oddball person who loved to make people laugh. I come from a long history of artists who inspired me daily, to use that imagination.
Now, all grown up (37) and having too many gray hairs to count, I decided to continue this journey of assisting the world in understanding they can use imagination every single day and not be a potato too mature for play.
We don’t have to work a job we hate and never think about anything else. Can you imagine if you were 25 years of age, and found the (perfect) job and never thought about anything else except that?

Sad. ( Like ice cream melted in the sun before eating it sad.)

Rex Felixx has always been apart of me, and I am apart of it. The whole purpose of it is to show the world through my writings, drawings, and personality, that we can be true to our own self. Who cares what other people may chatter when we are doing something we love. King Happy (Rex Felixx) is all about inspiring people who feel down on their luck, who are stuck, or just bored with life. Everyday I wake up hoping to bring a smile to someone’s day, or a creative spark in a poem I write.

One little spark…

to get that imagination growing again!

You want to bake? Cool go bake it.
You love to sing? Great go and do open mic
You like doing marathons? Amazing go and run (I’m tired thinking about 26 miles)

Please if you can’t remember anything I write in this post, remember this

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
STOP BEING SHY ABOUT HOW AWESOME YOU ARE!!

Get out there and start living, stop ignoring that little voice inside your heart telling you to dream.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. I want spaghettios

The World According to Rex Felixx Vol. 2

Ryan Jarosz July 21, 2024

Greetings and Salutations!

My name is Rex Felixx and I just created a brand new book about my creative, yet sometimes random brain. This book is for anyone and everyone who needs some inspiration in their day. It’s over 350 pages of wonderful illustrations and poems that will make you think about your life. The reason I do what I do is to inspire this world through laughter and creativity. It seems a lot of us are just working nonstop not really doing anything creatively for yourself. We forget to dream and forget to use our imaginations. Our corporate world decided what we should be dreaming about, yet in reality they shouldn’t have control over any part of our dreams. I hope this new book and the previous volume, will help inspire you to never stop dreaming, never stop creating, and most importantly never stop living the best life you can have. The years go quickly, don’t stop chasing your dreams no matter how crazy they seem to be.

Thank you for all your support.

Books are available on my website, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. Grab all the copies you can, share them with your cat, dog, gerbil, nephew, son, etc. etc. etc.

Cheesy Cheesy CHEEEESEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Ryan Jarosz February 28, 2024

Give me cheese
Hold the milk,

only cheese and ice creamy
frozen make it scream for joy.
I want the string cheese fiasco
and loads of tabasco.
SO much fun to eat the yellow
but afterwards I need a nap,
and then sleep and be so mellow.
On second thought,

maybe I shouldn’t…
eat all this dairy,
Cuz now my tum tum is
feeling rather scary.
Not to mention

very, very hairy.

RF

Okay so as you can tell I love cheese. I made a poem about cheese.
I grew up on cheese.

There were many holidays growing up, where I would have to grate lbs and lbs of cheddar, monterey jack, colby, swiss etc etc for the family to devour before we would then go and sit down and eat twelve lbs of prime rib. Our holiday family dinners were and still are the best memories for me. Most of the time it revolved around some sort of dairy. (Pizza, ice cream, cheese trays.)

Side note: dairy does bind us together if we eat too much of it (LOL).

In all seriousness though, it doesn’t matter what food you eat with your family. It’s the memories, the smells, the laughter that are meaningful and that we will remember even when we are old and gray.

I think there are many people out there who have had similar stories about cheese. If you enjoy cheese families as much as me, let me know, maybe we can collaborate on a cheese tray for that next party that we attend with each other’s families.

Cheers… I mean cheese,

Rex Felixx

Another year.... Time to reflect.

Ryan Jarosz December 28, 2023

Hey guys!!!

WHAT A YEAR!

Another year to be alive.

Another year to dream!
Life really is amazing.

Cheers to this year,

And
Cheers to the next year.

Although every year is awesome, I always want more. I always want to keep on growing.

In this last week of 2023, I think it is a good idea to sit and reflect on this past year.

Take a look at all the goals you have accomplished, (congratulate yourself, reward yourself)

Also review the goals you failed to achieve.( why did you fail? What support do I have?)

In 2024 may you continue to go after your dreams and goals and don’t dwell on your failures and shortcomings.
Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself.

“How am I going to live this life to the fullest?”

“What do I want to achieve in 2024?”

“How can i achieve these goals?”

Goout there and be awesome!!!
Change the world!

Don’t give up on your dreams in this life,

otherwise you may be sitting there breathing but you aren't truly living.

Cheers,

Rex Felix

P.S Bring me some figgy pudding

Stuck...

Ryan Jarosz October 24, 2023

It’s crazy to think that some of us decide that we can live on autopilot and be in a rut our entire life. I wouldn’t even say a rut… we just don’t want to try at all. We stop living at age 25 and die at 75. It’s very sad. It makes me depressed knowing that so many of us won’t even try to fulfill their dreams or even use their talents on a daily basis.

” I don’t have time”
” I am le tired.”

“ I have kids now.”

Blah Blah Blah…

Get up and go live the best life you can.
Stop this woe is me mentality.

Get out there and change your life,

which will then change the lives of others around you,

which will then change the whole world.

Most importantly,

When you actually do something with your talent and do something for yourself

you actually feel alive!

You show the world who you are!

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. I wish I was talented at cooking burgers. I really can go for one now.

ooooo pretty flower.

In a World of Decay.... Be the Beauty.

Ryan Jarosz September 23, 2023

Wandering through this

world of death and decay

realizing something has to change.

Stumbling upon a broken mirror I reflect,

“What do I do?”

“I haven’t the slightest clue

but it seems obvious to me

that the change starts with you.”

RF

I wrote this yesterday morning thinking abut all the craziest happening in this world today and realizing I want more out of this world with the years I have left. I’m guilty of worrying too much about the future and forgetting to be here in the present moment. I wouldn’t say this happens all the time but there are instances where I get caught up in all the dread and get grinded down like a tree stump.

These word came to me after the gym yesterday. I decided I need to type it out quickly before my shattered brain forgets it. Yes, we live in a broken messed up world but that doesn’t mean we have to give up hope or stop trying to better our life, or to help the ones around us.

Change starts with me. I need to take ownership of my failures and my successes. It seems so simple to change, yet we are creatures of habit. We get into a routine and stay with that routine forever. If we want to have an awesome life, world, and future its starts with little changes.

These changes can be as simple as :

Walking more.

Reading more and less scrolling.

Writing your thoughts down more.

Exercising more

.Having actual conversations with human beings more.

I want to be the best person I can be in this world. I also want the world to be better place for me and my family.(selfish thinking I know ) I think instead of trying to change the whole world we need to focus on changing our own life for the better and the world will follow suit. The only way we will be able to change this world is by starting to remove the ugly weeds ands vines suffocating us in this garden of life and start filling our garden with more beauty flowers!

Cheers homies,

Rex Felixx

Dreaming

Ryan Jarosz July 12, 2023

When did we become so old that we forgot how to dream?

When did we become so cynical that we are so mean?

I’m not that old (36, don’t let the grays fool you) But I notice that every year we get older it seems that we become mad at the life we created. A lot of us stop focusing on the positives in life and continuing to pursue our dreams. We then decide its feels great to become cynical and dull. If anyone tries to achieve a dream , we look at them and say…“Meh.” It’s a cancer that is ruining our lives. It is so easy to mock and laugh at people grinding for their dream. It is also much easier to look at others than to look in the mirror and say “Wow, I want to become something better. I want to be trying to live my life to the fullest.”

We can all achieve an awesome life.

We can all try to be a better person.

We can all decide today that we want to pursue an outlandish idea!

Don’t restrict yourself to never trying!

Go out and be awesome!!!!!!!

Peace out,

Rex Felixx

Waking up

Ryan Jarosz March 9, 2023

There are some days where I don’t feel like getting out of bed.
I am like sloth all rolled up like a California sushi roll.
There some days where I jump out of bed and want to hit the grounding running. I want to accomplish everything all in one day. I’m not sure why some days feel so different but I want to have that positive feeling of waking up and completing my goals all the time.

I think planning is important. You get to decide what you want to accomplish.
It’s so much easier laying out gym clothes and planning my workout than rushing in the morning trying to find my sneakers.

Waking up is key to having a great day. I encourage everyone to plan tomorrow, today.
before going to bed think of a few goals that you want to accomplish.
Try it out. I can’t be the only person who enjoys waking up with that feeling of excitement. That feeling of accomplishment.
What do you have to lose? Another day of slothfulness and resentment?

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

Fear

Ryan Jarosz February 9, 2023

I don’t know about you but I have been afraid of a lot of things in this life.

Fear of heights, drowning, failing, teeth falling out, being alone, not fitting in etc etc etc.

The biggest fear I have is rejection or failure. I have no idea why it’s the worst feeling, but having someone look down upon you or say you aren’t good enough isn’t fun. It can be crippling.

I have been very good at keeping the failure monster at bay and avoiding worry about failure. However, having a second child recently the thoughts have come creeping back into my head.

What if I am not successful as a father?

What if I mess up?

Word of advice for myself and anyone having doubts.

STOP OVERTHINKING!

START LIVING!

Ya we all will mess up, and fail. Embrace the failures with a smile

and learn from it.

We will not learn a ton from our successes because we think we are doing everything above and beyond. We think we can never fail, until we fail. Then it feels like the world is on fire.

I say mess up, fail, and keep trying new things. Keep pursuing that life of happiness and not be frozen in fear of failing every day.

Will I mess up as a father, a son, a brother, and a friend?

Heck yes!!!!!

Keep learning and growing to be the best you can be.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. This isn’t a perfect world, why do we have expect ourselves to be perfect ?

bzzzzzz into the new year.

Year in Review

Ryan Jarosz December 31, 2022

Well this year has been a year. I mean it’s been 365 days. I mean 12 months. Anyways you know what I mean. I always like to reflect on the past year and hold myself accountable more. Whether I am happy with the results I accomplished or I take a long hard look of what I still need to work on. No one else will hold me accountable so it’s up to me to reflect and to adapt.

Successes.

  • I published my first book.

  • I did an artshow.

  • I ran tough mudder again. (4x yessssss)

  • I got a song on spotify published ( Precious One by R.F.)

  • I had a birthday hahah 35 wooohooooo!

  • I have been focusing more on balance between work, life and family time.

  • Being more present with my prayers at mass and during the life. (not perfect)

  • Consistently working out daily. ( I am a strong dude lol)

  • Expecting our second child!!

Items to work on.

  • Stop worrying about everything all at once.

  • Trying to do to much too quickly.

  • Work on my healthy eating habits more ( stop eating junk nonstop, and focus on heart health a lot more. I have the strength now need to focus on mind health and heart health.)

  • Being present in the moment with family, friends, self.

  • Working on my faith and prayer life more.

  • Stick to my routines even when I lose motivation.

Now this isn’t everything I’ve accomplished nor everything that i messed up with. It is just some highlights that have been in my thoughts recently. I encourage you all to take a moment and think about the good, the bad, and the ugly in your life before the new year starts. A refection on where to go next. Happy New Years to everyone. Stay safe and get ready for your best year yet!!!!

Cheers,
Rex Felixx

P.S. Drink all the champagne… unless you are preggo, or a child, then don’t drink all the champagne, instead eat all the corn, and spam.

Food Season

Ryan Jarosz November 3, 2022

November marks the beginning of the best food season of the year. We have turkey on Thanksgiving, rib roast for Christmas, and all the sugary goodies to go along with it. I think the most lonely food of the season are the candied yams.

A long, long time ago, when I was working at Disney World we had a friendsgiving party. All our coworkers wanted to put together a fun shin dig and everyone brought a side dish. Some people grabbed paper plates and napkins (boring), others brought stuffing. I decided I would bring a magnificent dish called candied yams. When I announced it to the group they all looked at me oddly and said “umm cool, that sounds okay.”

I worked in the kitchen all day cutting and chopping the yams. I even talked to the yams to make sure they felt welcome. After about 8 hours they were ready to be consumed. I swiftly wrapped them up to preserve the heat and scurried over to the party. I was expected to be welcomed with open arms and heralded as the king of the party. Alas, I show up and no one was there to grab the glorious dish from my hands.

I asked Craw (my future wife) “I made the yams, where can I place them?”

She then stated “ Ummm.. just put them on the stove over there.”

“Alrighty put them over there, away from all the other cool side dishes. I just hope people will eat them.”

“Oh yeah, we are excited to eat the yams.” Craw said with a smirk on her face.

Well let’s just say no one ate the yams. After about three hours of hanging out, no one ate the yams.

All of my hard work didn’t pay off. They lonely yams sat there staring at all the side dishes. The stuffing and cranberries weren’t neglected. The turkey was a hit dish (I haven’t the slightest reason why). However, my exquisite dish was banished away from the party and eventually travelled into the trash can.

Yams are the most lonely food of the season. No one will eat them ever. Moral of the story, don’t make any extravagant side dishes for parties. They won’t ever get eaten. Be the person who brings paper plates. I’m kidding, just don’t create candied yams for people who can’t appreciate the wonders of that side dish.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. I yam what I yam.

Spooky Season

Ryan Jarosz October 14, 2022

It’s October again, and that means spooky season is upon us. I love this season of fun and pumpkins and candy and scares and corn mazes and… I can go on and on and on.

I feel like bats are given a bad wrap though. They have always been weird looking but that doesn’t mean they are creepy people. I mean Fruit bats are a cool band and actual fruit bats like to eat fruit and are cute. They have cute big ears and weird shaped noses… On the other hand Dracula loved bats, vampire bats drink blood and I would get scared of them if they were in my bedroom. There was that one office episode where the bat got into the office and every panicked. Meredith had to get a rabies shot. So ya, I guess that makes sense to be afraid of them. Okay come to think of it, maybe bats don’t get a bad wrap, I think bats are very scary. Be careful of all the bats this October, you don’t want them to come after you and suck your blood. If you see a bat in the sky run away! ! Be careful out there this upcoming Halloween day.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

End of a Season

Ryan Jarosz September 22, 2022

Another Summer season gone, and another Fall season begins. I don’t know about you but this year has flown by so quickly. I remember June starting and I’m thinking to myself, “ Man I can’t wait to do all the cool Summer stuff.” It was a very eventful season but I still wanted to do more. There was so much to do yet I ran out of time. The more I look back on the past few months, the more I realize I waste a lot of time thinking of what to do, instead of just doing it. “It be fun to do whitewater rafting, or a trip to Vermont would be cool.”

The years seem to move very quickly and soon enough I’ll be looking in the mirror being more gray than I am now. (if that is even possible.) Instead of wondering what to do, I am going to start pursuing it and not waiting to do it. One season is over but we still have 2 more left this year to enjoy, and fulfill those goals.

I’ll leave you with a quote from one of my favorite films “ Do you want to become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone?” - Inception

Go out and enjoy all that you can while we still can.

Cheers,
Rex Felixx

Sourssssssss

Ryan Jarosz September 2, 2022

There was a time when I was a younger person (aka as a child), and i went to the candy store down the street from our house. Inside this candy store they had penny candy. Now for all you young people, penny candy was a real thing. You could go into a store and buy one piece of candy for the cost of a penny, not a dollar, but a penny. Those were the best days. Anyways, this candy store had everything from Swedish fish, to jawbreakers. On the right hand corner of the shelf was a new type of candy called Warheads. They were a tiny candy in the shape of a circle individually wrapped for your enjoyment. (my mouth is watering thinking about it.) I had no idea at the time that these candies were the most deadliest, sour thing I have ever eaten in my life. I decided to buy 10 of them.

If you have ever had a warhead, you know that they are very sour and can cause pain to your taste buds. Sadly, I was nine years old and not smart.

Now I had about 10 of these warheads in my hands and I thought “Hmm geez whiz, this sounds fun to eat all of these warheads at once and enjoy them all together not individually.” (Again, I am nine, and not very bright.) In the mouth they went. Blue, red, yellow, green, all the colors of the rainbow into that hole in my face. Now, I have been hit by a car and broke my leg, I kind of knew what pain was. It was about 3 seconds later that I realized what “real” pain was. My mouth twisted and shriveled in many many different directions due to the intense flavors of this sugary candy. In an instant my eyes were watered, and my gums of my teeth were on fire from the Warheads. Luckily I was alone by myself at the park so no one could see me crying. I mean if you cried at nine years old, you were considered a baby.

But I learned two valuable lessons that day. Never ever eat ten warheads at a time and also never open a candy store selling penny candies. You will never make a profit and survive. The store shut down a few years after the warhead incident, most likely due to kids complaining that their taste buds exploded, not because the store made no profits. My taste buds got burned off that day and I don’t think I have ever recovered. Actually, now that I think of it, I haven’t been able to taste certain foods. I wonder if being nine years old ruined my whole adult tasting career. I will never be a professional food taster anymore. My dreams are shattered… Oh well on that note, time to go get some fun dip and pixie sticks to finish of this work week.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. my mouth is still watering from the sours

Silence...

Ryan Jarosz August 25, 2022

Life has been so chaotic lately. Summertime is always overly busy, and then, in a flash, it’s almost September. Another season begins. I woke up yesterday and forgot my headphones for the gym. I normally love grooving to the tunes while pumping iron but I enjoyed every minute of having no headphones. I was able to walk outside and hear nothing but the breeze rustling the trees and birds waking up the neighborhood. No static just some nice silence from the noise.

Silence is so hard to find these days. People are grinding 24 hrs a day and never stop to sit in silence. I’ve been guilty of it so much lately, just clocking in and clocking out, or non stop social media consumption. Just like chugging 20 red bulls a day isn’t healthy for the heart, neither is non stop working and consumption of social media.

Next time you are heading on a walk or going to the gym take out the headphones and fight the urge of endlessly scrolling your social media pages. A better idea! Find a park bench and just sit and chill for 15 minutes. See how you feel afterward.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. Silence is golden.

Milkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...

Ryan Jarosz August 4, 2022

Got milk?

Those commercials from the 90’s were awesome. I remember the one where the guy was in a hospital bed with a full body cast and he saw a pile of cookies placed on table next to him. He ended up eating the whole plate of cookies but had no milk. I think he ended up choking on the cookies and then went to heaven. Seriously, youtube it. It’s a crazy commercial probably banned in 15 countries. I mean even as a kid watching it, i’m thinking to myself, “Can they show this on tv?” The nineties were a whole different world.

Now where was I? Oh yes, milk is the best! It is so much better than drinking water or drinking butter. I literally could drink it all day if I couId. I have never tried the drinking a gallon of milk challenge, but I think I could do it. If I had a whole box of Oreos to go alongside it. Nothing is better than oreos and milk. I mean nothing at all.

NOTHING!

Well on that note, I think I made myself thirsty. I guess it’s time I go down and grab a tall glass of whole milk.

Now. don’t look at me weird because I drink whole milk. It’s the perfection in a glass.

Before I go, I’ll leave you with some words of wisdom from the coolest milk drinker ever.

“ I see you're drinking 1%. Is that 'cause you think you're fat? 'Cause you're not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to.” - Napoleon Dynamite

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

What was I doing?

Ryan Jarosz July 23, 2022

An elephant never forgets, but a Rex Felixx always does. I noticed recently that I have not been able to remember as well as I have in the past. (I mean I am 35 now so I am pretty old) I’m not sure if its because I keep so much information on my phone that I don’t need to remember as much. Or I have too much information hitting me 24/7 that I can’t process it as quickly or retain as much as I want to.

I want to be able to remember memories and important dates in my head up until i’m into my nineties. I have to start thinking about using my brain to work it out and push it to remember more. I have seen supplements and other products used to help increase memory strength. I also noticed crossword puzzles or other mind games that can potentially help. If anyone has any other remedies that they use or solutions let me know. I also feel like it is hard to gauge if I am retaining more information after doing mind exercises. It’s not like training in the gym where you can work at a certain muscle group and see results. That could be a reason why I struggle with trying new ways to help with my memory. It harder to see results or even notice the results. I’m open to anything and everything. The mind is a terrible thing to waste, and we all want to remember as much as we can for as long we can.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.S. Anyone know where I left my car keys?

At Sea...

Ryan Jarosz July 14, 2022

Ever feel lost at sea? Nothing ever seems to be going your way or just feel stuck? There are some days where all I want to do is lay in bed and do nothing all day. While sometimes it’s great to recharge, unwind and be lazy, majority of those times it’s just not good to do. One of the biggest reasons we feel lost at sea is we have no defined purpose at that moment. We are aimlessly sailing a boat to who knows where. Maybe we will get to our destination, but more than likely we will either crash or get swallowed up by a sea monster.

The easiest thing to do to help you get out of your own head and start having a purpose is to do something productive. It can be making your bed, or walking a mile, it truly doesn’t matter. This will help you jumpstart your mind. From that point it may open more doors to you to continue on a productive day, a productive week, and a productive life. Stop the lost at sea mentality, drop the anchor, and redirect where you going.

Do something productive.

Peace,

Rex Felixx

floating...

Ryan Jarosz June 30, 2022

I normally enjoy floating in the pool any chance I get. floating around and soaking up the sunshine. Nothing beats it. Unless you get so sunburned that you look like a piece of toast that was stuck in the toaster for an hour and a half. Although I enjoy laying around all day on a pool flotation device, sitting in a white water raft was equally enjoyable.

It was a few years ago for my buddies bachelor party, we went white water rafting In Ohio Pyle area. I think it was a category 3 rapids, so nothing too crazy. We set out early in the morning, and came back in the evening. Every second in between was an experience. We had heart pounding turns and insane rapids and then some laid back chill vibes down the river. I’m not the best swimmer and that made me nervous to try rafting. The week prior I was overthinking and worrying about falling in and dying. But the end of the day I was so full of energy and excitement that I never even had time to think about falling in and dying. awesome. It was very cool being part of a team and paddle through the rapids.

I do enjoy the laid back style of pool swimming and rafting, but this experience of white water rafting will last me a lifetime. I think it’s always good to put yourself into new experiences and grow from it. Who cares if you fall out of the raft, ( I didn’t luckily) just get back in and keep paddling. I think that’s good mantra to have moving forward. No matter what life throws at you or new experiences that come along always keep paddling forward.

Cheers,

Rex Felixx

P.s. Stay safe this weekend, have fun and go swimming

Surfing Sunshine...

Ryan Jarosz June 16, 2022

This weather has been awesome! It makes me wanna jump into a 1987 Jeep Wagoneer and strap my surfboard on top. Then drive to Laguna beach, catch some waves and rays.

Sadly, I do not have a surfboard or a Jeep Wagoneer. I do however enjoy the surf scene of the 1950’s and 1960’s. It seemed like a simpler time of hanging out with your buddies and chilling on the beach. There are so many vintage movies from that time period ,that get you into the spirit of the surfer nostalgia of Hawaii and California. Nothing beats having a fire on the beach and watching the sunset, while listening to music. Man, where is that time machine when you need it.

I have checked out Cali and loved it, but never been to Hawaii. It seems like it’s a very laid back style as well. Not going to lie, that may be my next vacation spot to check out. Hit up the beaches, check out the food, Mai Tais and just chill all day. Maybe I’ll love it so much I’ll never leave. I can surf all day and eat all night. (Spam is good in Hawaii, or so I heard.)

I may not get to Hawaii for awhile, but in the meantime , I can bring that style of summer living here. The summer in Buffalo comes and goes so quickly, maybe we should all just chill, enjoy the sunshine and not be in a rush to get to the wintertime.

Aloha brotatos,

Rex Felixx

P.S anyone have any hawaiian shirts they wanna donate to me?????
